Superintendent's Message
Excitement was in the air this morning as the newest elementary school-based library opened at Burncoat Preparatory School. The opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony as part of the "One City, One Library" initiative, a private-public partnership focused on improving literacy skills city-wide. The branch includes all new books, iPads, computers, electronic literacy stations, a Smartboard, and plenty of comfortable seating. Public hours will begin today at 4 p.m. During the school year, the branch will be open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additional hours will be added during the summer months. A special thank you to the Worcester Public Library, the City of Worcester, and community leader Patty Eppinger for their continued support in moving this initiative forward. Happy Reading!
